A self-confessed horse aficionado, Mohamed Dekkak visits a Moroccan property raising a Barb horse, a desert horse known for its great stamina.
Although not that much is known to the general public, there’s a strong influence that Barb holds upon other breeds of the horse as the Arabian.
Similar to Arabian Horse, the Barb Horse possibly had a strong influence on racing equestrian breeds. Many considered the Barb breed have more influence on racing horses compared to any other horse breed. Its influence can well be observed in a number of other equine breeds, like the Appaloosa, the Mustang, the American Quarter Horse, the Paso Fino, and the Argentinian Criollo.
In the 14th century, the Barb breed turn out to be highly valued across Europe wherein rich families own large racing stables. In England, the barb horse was used to develop other breeds like Thoroughbred for horse racing.
These days, the Barb Horse is largely raised in Morocco, Algeria, southern France, and Spain. Other varieties of the Barb Horse, includes the Tunisian Barb, Moroccan Barb, and Algerian Barb and Abaco Barb.
Due to Barb Horse’s willing personality, the breed may be used for many different functions. As a matter of fact, aside from equestrian sports competitions, these breeds of horses have been effectively used to work both in agriculture and the military. They are also great horses for conventional horse riding, and they can even be used in.
Barb horses are amazing to work with since they have a willingness to learn, making it easy to train them. Most importantly, these horses are gentle in nature which makes them a wonderful equestrian companion for riders, horse owners, and trainers of all levels.

The significance of National Day of France
Similar to United States’ Independence Day, the National Day of France, recognized as Bastille Day is France’s national holiday that denotes the attack of the Bastille in the 1700s and is called La Fête Nationale Française.
During the eighteenth century, the country was in serious economic and political crisis, and the French people were disappointed with the administration under King Louis XVI’s rule, which ended up with high taxes and food shortages.
A symbol of cruelty and injustice in Paris, the Bastille which was an old prison and fortress held captured many political rebels. Then on July 14, 1789, a fuming crowd stormed the Bastille and freed the seven prisoners before taking the weapons stowed inside.
The attack was momentous for it proved to revolutionaries that the King had weak control over his armies and destabilized his power. The event spark of what later has been known as the French Revolution and the kingdom was ultimately dethroned.
King Louis and his wife Queen Marie Antoinette were detained and were executed together with other people who supported the royal family.
The Bastille and Eiffel Tower
The people of France celebrated the very first Bastille Day during the first anniversary of the storming, on the same site where the famous Eiffel Tower now stands. The iconic structure opened officially in 1889, precisely a hundred years after the storming of Bastille and was constructed to commemorate the 100th anniversary.
Celebrating Bastille Day
Bastille Day is being observed across France every 14th of July. Citizens are dancing in the streets and waving the country’s flag – a tradition practiced up to this day. A lot of people go to significant public events like parades, performances, and firework displays.
In 1880, a political leader named Benjamin Raspail proposed that July 14 should become a national holiday in France. Since then, the holiday has been held annually to remind today’s generation of the people who fought for freedom and justice in society.

Using fasting, a person demonstrates the highest degree of obedience from sunrise to sunset in one month per year by consciously submitting to abstaining from drinking, eating and having intimate relations. This self-control is an outstanding process for spiritual and moral development.

A healthy and hearty suhoor meal is recommended to remain in proper nourishment for the rest of the day during the fast. At the day’s end, after sunset, the Maghrib prayer begins, and the day’s fast is broken with iftar. A lot of Muslims consume dates to break their fast before starting the iftar meal.
