Tangier, MA (July 18, 2017) The Moroccan Association of Ibn Battuta is pleased to announce the theme that will lead the program for the event activities of the second International Festival of Ibn Battuta, slated on November 9-12, 2017 at the city of Tangier in the Kingdom of Morocco.
“This is a unique travel festival,” enthused Honorary Chairman Mohamed Dekkak. “Travel widens your understanding of the world – a passport to PEACE, hence the theme ‘Travelers, the Ambassadors of Peace and Tolerance.’ Encouraging modern-day travelers to become ambassadors of peace will put into place a wider perspective when traveling. In turn, this idea will foster mutual tolerance, create better relationships, and a profound respect towards cultural backgrounds.”
“The festival will enlighten that idea,” states President Aziz Benami. “Through the character of Ibn Battuta, the greatest traveler of premodern times, visitors, and participants in this year’s celebration will discover his story and principles and how can it be adopted by today’s generation.”
