On July 30, 2018, the Kingdom of Morocco celebrated the 19th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed the VI’s accession to the Throne. The commemoration is a renewed chance to demonstrate the strong connection amongst the people of Morocco and the throne.
Together with HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan as well as HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, HM King Mohammed VI, chaired at the Marchane Palace in Tangier, on Monday, a reception on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the King’s accession to the throne of his glorious ancestors.
During the opening ceremony, His Majesty the King greeted the national colors, during which the national anthem was playing when the 21-gun salute was fired.
Afterward, HM King Mohammed VI was greeted by some Moroccan and foreign personalities, who came to congratulate the King on this festive event. Mohamed Dekkak, Chairman, and Founder of the Adgeco Group was offered a chance to personally greet the Morocco King.
The Sovereign was welcomed by government leaders headed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Ombudsman, the Wali of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and the President of the Council of the Region of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, heads of the military, diplomatic corps, ambassadors and foreign dignitaries.
Religious leaders from different religious groups such as the Archbishop of Tangier, the President of the Russian Orthodox Church, President of the Evangelical Church and the Chief Rabbi of Casablanca also extended their well-wishes for the King.
Also spotted attending the event are private and public leaders like the former head of the Spanish Government, José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Adnan Amin.
The National Day reception symbolizes a time of immense significance in the country’s life to feature the essential gains accomplished in the last years. Plans are presented to achieve more in building a progressive and booming nation, under the ruling of HM King Mohammed VI.
In a speech addressed on Sunday to the nation, King Mohammed VI has called on political parties to encourage young people to take part in the country’s political field. The King encouraged political parties to appeal to new elites and call for young people to engage in political issues.
