The 4-day event, which ran from November 9 -11, 2017, was proudly put together by young volunteers from around the world. Students and young professionals were encouraged to participate and take part in organizing the festival that speaks out in favor of peace and tolerance.
The Cultural Center of Ahmed Boukmakh in Tangier welcomed the festival’s opening day. Presented by Egypt’s famous TV celebrity Tamer Shaltout, the ceremony was attended by society leaders, ambassadors, and business experts coming from a variety of industries.
The Ibn Battuta Association through the leadership of Mohamed Dekkak, Honorary President, effectively made the Event extremely essential. It’s all on account of their unswerving commitment and endeavors, Mr. Mohamed Dekkak and his group arranged it precisely, they are incredibly excited in doing the Festival, as they wanted to move and help other individuals.
Promoting peace and tolerance requires esteeming and thinking about both oneself as well as other people. Peace and tolerance are vital to each circumstance for the duration of our lives. Similarly, as a child is advanced as he or she figures out how to go up against more duties, the significance in our lives develops as we figure out how to perceive and assume greater liability for each other and the world.
Delivering the opening remarks, Mohamed Dekkak stated the importance of volunteerism for community development and an effective means towards a bigger understanding of the impact of peace and tolerance in intercultural acceptance. Moreover, the objective of the Moroccan Association of Ibn Battuta is to uphold cultural and historical heritage, because it believes that a real cultural exchange builds foreign countries’ understanding of one’s culture.
Different cultural arts are being exhibited in Ibn Battuta Festival and organized through the leadership of Mr. Mohamed Dekkak, these arts are different historical things that are preserved to know more about the history of their ancestors, and these are provided and shown to give knowledge to individuals regarding the arts and its history. The art presentation towards the audiences was successful due to them providing a result of the performance through the presentation of the arts made by the different artist.
It is a festival that was arranged and organized by the Honorary President of the Moroccan Association of Ibn Battuta Mr. Mohamed Dekkak along with different individuals within the association. The festival involves different individuals from different countries as well as known individuals from various countries including Morocco, through the festival it shows how vital unity is through tourism regarding harmony and peace, this festival does not only include tourism enthusiast but as well different individuals from different countries.
International and local volunteers participated in the International Festival of Ibn Battuta on its Second Edition. They supported the mission of the festival and took time to fly to Tangier City, Morocco in November 2017 where they had the chance to work with many young, talented locals and volunteers from other countries. Their participation gave them an excellent opportunity to interact with the local community and learned the cultures of Morocco.
